Community Outreach

DanceVision's mission is to enrich the community with quality dance experiences. Through outreach programs such as DanceFest and Princeton Dance for Parkinson, DanceVision makes the joy of movement and freedom of dance accessible to the entire community.

DanceVision’s annual DanceFest is a celebration of dance. The entire community is invited to participate in lessons and watch performances in various styles of dance including salsa, bollywood, tap, hip-hop, ballet, and line-dancing. Children can enjoy games and dance-themed crafts. DanceVision invites local organizations such as HomeFront to attend fundraisers, community events, and performances at no charge. DanceFest is held locally each spring.

Princeton Dance for Parkinson

In January 2011, DanceVision partnered with The Parkinson Alliance to bring John Heginbotham and David Leventhal - lead teachers of the Dance for Parkinson's Disease program founded by Mark Morris - to Central New Jersey to host a master class of their innovative dance program. The class empowers those afflicted with Parkinson’s disease, their partners, caregivers, and friends to enjoy movement, music, and dance. This was the first class of its kind in New Jersey, and DanceVision has made Princeton Dance for Parkinson classes a recurring event. Visit the PDforParkinson page of our website for more information on this ongoing series.

DanceVision and The Parkinson Alliance are thrilled to announce the dates for their 2013 Winter and Spring 6-week series. Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 1-2:15pm, at Princeton Dance & Theater Studio (PDT), Forrestal Village, 116 Rockingham Row, Princeton, NJ. The first series of the new year will begin on January 30th and end March 6th. The second series will be from March 27th through May 1st, and the third from May 22nd through June 12th. Classes are offered for FREE, though donations are gratefully accepted.  No prior dance experience is necessary, and participants may start classes any time during the series.  For more information, please contact mariesnyder@dancevisionnj.org, or call 609-520-1020.
